Some more artistry from my ongoing photoreal autogen project

Postby Kelvinr » Wed Jun 05, 2019 10:27 am

As the title reads. In this case i'm using FS Earth tiles for photo imagery but my autogen will work on any photoreal scenery for New Zealand. I'm reprocessing the autogen again so will take some time after many corrections but getting there.

I'm deciding on what I want to achieve with this in terms of putting it out into the wild after my first version. I'm using latest available Building outline data and GIS data for autogen for both vegetation as well as photoscenery masking of the entire country.

It's a massive undertaking but well worth it in my eyes. If anyone has any comments feel free to share, I don't have a huge amount of time to actually download and correct LINZ photo aerial imagery so I'm happy to have a joint effort in anyone that has the imagery (preferably as higher quality as possible for the regions) and wants to correct the colour, I have coded an automation tool to do the masking, it's pre-beta but working pretty well.

So this is pretty must getting an idea as to who might want to be involved in this project in whatever capacity. Feel free to PM, otherwise I'll keep going with it.

Cheers.

Thanks for the compliments. I do love the work and capabilities of the sim to enhance the experience.

Once I get to it, I'll post some more screenshots.

Cheers

Very impressive Kelvin. I don't have the time or talent to help you sorry but it looks great. God's speed !!

With that level of autogen density I assume we'd have to be careful about settings in bigger urban areas re performance?

It's a challenge but I do enjoy it. Yes the density is demanding but the sliders do help but I haven't tried it on a mid or low end system, only GTX 1080ti and 2080ti which performs exceptionally well under the load with agn sliders to the max.
