A decade, eh...

Postby toprob » Mon Jul 01, 2019 6:44 pm

It isn't often I can know exactly what I was doing ten years to the day, but today I do -- 1st July 2009 I had my heart surgery. The day before I'd signed the confirmation that I knew and accepted the risks, and I think it was this which convinced me that I would be on the lower end of the curve, and last somewhere between six months and three years if I was lucky. So ten years is something to celebrate. (With a chocolate lamington and a glass of wine.)
Now I'm thinking maybe I'll have a crack at another decade...

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Cheers, guys. This Friday I get the closest thing to a WOF, with an echo-cardiogram appointment at Timaru Hospital. An echo is a good thing to have, as they can really get a good idea of what's going on with your heart. I get one every few years, although now I'm 60+ I think they might do this more often:)
Ten years ago, when I convinced my doctor that there was something wrong, I spent 3 days in hospital but they didn't find anything, diagnosing stress, but my ex-wife (divorced for 10 years by then) screamed at the doctors that it wasn't stress, so they did the echo, and that showed the problem immediately. So I'm a big fan of echoes, and ex-wives!

Matzel tov on 10th anniversary and I look forward to 20th and 30th anniversaries!!!!

Amazes me that you can design and handle difficult complexity of airport sceneries for 10 years after heart surgery!!
