FSX/Steam CFG Help

I fired up Steam after some years away from FSX. I have been playing around with scenery, and due to my lost knowledge and advanced years I have struck trouble.

Running FSX in Steam I am getting "SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid Remote scenery Area 101" And "SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid scenery path in scenery Area 107"

I need some advice on how to tackle this problem. My first thought was to uninstall Steam and start again. Do I need Steam to run FSX?. The re-leaning curve may be to big for me.

In the sim, go into the scenery library tab and delete any scenery entries that you no longer have. Shut down the sim and when you start it up again, it'll rebuild the .cfg file

Thanks, but I don't have any scenery entries that I have added. At this stage I don't know what I have done.

I wish it was that easy.

I cannot find the .cfg file in the normal places so I don't know what I have done.

I looks like I will have to uninstall FSX, and I think I will get rid of Steam at the same time, it updates too much. I guess I uninstall FSX and then Steam.?

Then start over again.

Yeah it's in a dumb place. I'll just try to remember where. Deleting the sim doesn't delete that file for some reason.

101 and 107 are Australia and Oceania respectively. Did you delete either of these from the default scenery by accident?

Go to C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/FSX and see if the file is there. Open it with wordpad or some other text editor and see if the two entries below are in there.

They are both appear ok under scenery. Thanks for trying anyway.

Yes. The two folders are there.

I verified the files through steam. Reckons that 321 failed to validate and will be reacquired. Unfortunately the problem remains. I guess uninstalling FSX and STEAM will be my only remedy.

Weird. When you uninstall it, make sure you hunt around for all of the hidden files otherwise it may not fix your problem
