Microsoft Flight Simulator new in-flight footage of Lake Tekapo, Aoraki/ Mount Cook National Park ??

The latest March 26th 2020 Development update is out and is about Multiplayer flight
Feature Discovery Series Episode 7: Multiplayer

It appears to have a some Multi aircraft formation flying footage in the Godley River Valley which is the head water that feeds into Lake Tekapo from 1:03

Does anyone else think the same, that it's the top end of the Lake Tekapo, Aoraki/ Mount Cook National Park area?

If so then it's the first time that we've seen mountain flying footage in the new Microsoft Flight Simulator with a backdrop of NZ Scenery.

Yes I'm pretty sure that is NZ. Love the footage of the hillside landings, that's the sort of flying I'll want to be doing. B-)

That is a remarkable video, for me not so much the multi-player features, but the way they've shown the world -- yes, a lot of that was NZ, so we get a much more useful look at what we can expect flying around the southern lakes, for instance, and dropping into fields for lunch:)

I was thinking that the lead-in shots of the taxiing aircraft were maybe part of the same flight, but for the life of my I can't figure out where it could be, with those sealed taxiways and all the trees bordering the runway...

Even the opening scene of the lighting on the PC12 highlighting the rippled panel lines on the side of the fuse. The Aircraft modelling is simply outstanding...even better than Carenado.

I agree I've also been trying to figure out where the lead-in shots of the taxiing aircraft might be. Got me stumped, with the sealed painted taxi-way positioning for the runway. It does look like it's on the flats like the Canterbury Plains somewhere with a long building on the other-side of the runway along with the trees bordering the runway. Don't see a lot of sealed painted taxiways in the South Island so it's a bit of a mystery.

It was also interesting to see the Asbo Developer seen in front of screens, taking off the Carbon Cub on a small plateau hillside on the Lilybank Farming and Hunting Station @ the isolated northern end of Lake Tekapo.
