Covid 19 and no end in sight....

Since one week I am in voluntary self-isolation as a member of a risk group, buying my food and drinks online, not going out anymore . . . But it is not boring. In the last years I simply had no time to sit down for a few hours, days, weeks to build a model but eagerly bought interesting kits in 1/72nd scale. In the meantime I have made an inventory and am amazed at what has accumulated there. So that's how it is. Off. In the meantime, I have purchased paints for the Soviet Air Force of 1938-1945, the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy Air Force, and I will start this weekend...

I ventured out this afternoon ...masked and gloved, to get some rations, a tad nervous I must admit about what I might be confronted with.
Arrived at my local countdown and to my surprise, I almost had the fully stocked place to myself..... the lack of traffic was amazing, just a couple of rental camper vans roaming around flying foreign flags looking lost , really felt like telling them to get the F out .... dumping their rubbish in the mall bins

And a highly stressed manager told me it's impossible to get the supply chain balanced with demand.
Just wait til the mountain of loo paper back home gets worked through, you'll queue for an hour just to get in.

..for me, it's just my usual day.
The only difference for me is not being able to go for tours around the pleasant countryside on my motorcycle.
Shopping can be dangerous...touching stuff that other folks have touched...
..but as long as I have plenty of edible and drinkable stuff indoors, and plenty of toys to play with...
I am my usual happy bunny self!
Just need to keep washing my hands...
...and whistling a happy tune until it all goes away...
...in 2021...!

Carl... First is Tamiya. I like Finemold, Hasegawa and Fujimi, but they are a bit outiside of my wallet. Sometimes moulds are exchanged and Revell buys those from Hasegawa. So you can get good kits quite cheap if you know where the moulds come from. Therefore I also read model building magazines from time to time and ask my dealer. But after many usual kits of Spitfires, Mustangs, Messerschmidt Bf 109 I now build the exotics. There are some companies from the Czech Republic and Russia that you should look at on a case-by-case basis.

I put in a wall unit with a large glass display case with room for about 150 models in 1/72nd scale. When there are more of them, there is always a part in the magazine. Problem. Cleaning is a nightmare.
