It's a keeper!

MSFS 2020 ... absolutely stunning - and goes like stink on my mediochre/old system:

Near Milford Sound (spoiler: they forgot to put in Mitre Peak!!!!):

The atmospherics are *superb*:

The autogen (sourtesy of Blackshark.ai) is streets ahead of anything we've seen before in a sim:

Early days yet. Still getting to grips with the oddball camera system, but this sim has *plenty* of potential. I'll post more as I explore more ...

Great shots

I did not know that MS2020 has British Airways AI traffic!! Am I correct that the Airbus taxiing in screenshot is on NZCH airport?

Yes, VFR folks are gonna love it. I liked the reflections in Aerofly FS2, but the shiny aircraft in MFS are another level!
Shame about Milford Sound, I've been waiting on a DEM tool in the SDK so I could at least see Mitre Peak, although I guess we can wait for Orbx. Hopefully it won't be another London....

So far (default) you only get the one livery - which is the stock Airbus (delivery??) one. The registration is fake - as it can be added by MSFS when you set up your flight. Hardly realistic, but great fun!

It's not just the shininess of the aircraft - the detailing is impressive as well. Not to be underplayed also is the quality of the autogen. Blackshark.ai really did a fine job here it's way more "intelligent" than anything we've seen before in a sim. I did a flight over the North Shore and our house is singled out and correctly placed. I @BobL also says their house in Browns Bay can be picked out. There aren't that many POIs around Auckland - no Sky Tower or Harbour Bridge etc. but what's there does look convincing. At least the Domain is there (a terrible omission by ORBX) ... and Rangitoto has a better profile.

The great thing is that the default scenery is good - all it needs are the 3rd party contributions, which I'm sure will follow.

Haha .. thanks (well spotted!). Well ... I had (finally) to admit that I may be *slightly* too old to be an airline pilot ;) - and can't afford a PPL so there's really no need for all the PMDG-style doodads as long as the sim looks good (and realistic) ... which it most certainly does. More to the point - it performs well on my old system, whereas P3Dv5 crucified it.

More pics soon, I hope!

Great shots. Looking forward to seeing how this all goes in VR. I stick to Aerofly for VR, I just can't quite get the other sims to the frames I need. But shots like these make me go mmm.

Incidentally I am an old Birkdale lad too. Living in Tokyo these days, spend more time mucking around making scenery than flying.
