It's such a sad story. AeroflyFS2 had so much potential but development has been so slow that even it's devoted user base is giving up. One of the factors is MSFS having excellent visuals, too, but coming with world-wide scenery out of the box. Still, I would classify the AeroflyFS2 base engine as much more powerful than that of MSFS. It's the only flight simulator where I actually have fun with my HP Reverb.
The developers have clearly missed the time window for success, mostly, because they were unable to cooperate. Several developers tried making addons but one by one gave up as it wasn't profitable: ORBX, Taburet, Aerosoft, France VFR, Just Flight. Look upon the Steam usage charts showing 34 users - worldwide! - right now and and an all-time minimum of monthly users.
I can imagine them to switch focus to the mobile version, actually the same stratey the followed after AeroflyFS1 failed, and mainly for similar reasons.
Kind regards, Michael
