Marty, I feel your pain - been there many times. AFS uses a very precise timestamp to name the files e.g screenshot_nn_yyyymmdd_hhmmss and it puts them all in Documents>AFS2>screenshots. Unfortunately if you step out to change aircraft (or location), when you come back in it starts at screenshot_01 again, so under "Today's" you can have several screenshot_01s etc.
I get around that by moving each group in a set to its own folder before starting the next one with "Today's" empty.
I also swapped the default key settings so that S gives me a screenie without overlays, and Shift-S gives a shot with overlays.
