Hmmm, the recent addition of snow to MSFS is a nice touch, but might be a bit overdone -- I've just spent a couple of days at Mount Cook, and thought I'd have a look at the area in the sim. Didn't expect a winter wonderland, considering it's very much summer.
Last shot is the village.

Milford Sound is the same - winterland in the middle of summer!!! Yesterday, there was snow on the high parts of Great Barrier Island.......

I think those are cloud tops that havn't been painted out on the satellite photoreal ground textures. There's a couple in Whanganui National Park too.
