Another on bites the dust

Postby Splitpin » Fri Feb 26, 2021 8:10 pm

Today was a strange old day, and one I haven't been looking forward to but knew it was near.
Yet another old mate is in the departure lounge... about 12 hours or so to go the docs say. I went to visit him this afternoon .....and it was very much like my last visit with our own Ian Warren.
"Turn the f***ing light on" etc etc.
This guy is like an older brother to me, and it's a bit hard to think he won't be here in the morning. He has had issues(compounding)for the last 12 months.
Glad I got to spend the last bit with him ...just saying. He lost his daughter to cancer on new years day 2021, and I think he gave up then.... don't know.

So sorry to read that news SP. That's rough. It is these unfortunate times when we bear witness to the fragility and inevitable conclusion of life.
A horrid waiting game in most cases. We lost a friend on New Years eve to the big C. She simply didn't want to "blemish" another year.
Take care.

Jeff took a flight out early this morning, first-class no doubt...I'm going to miss him.
I can't get my head around how someone can carry on for 7 or more days, off bulk needed medication, not eating, and hardly drinking.
It's like a pilot(Jeff) really wanting to eject, but the aircraft(his body) overriding the procedure for whatever reason.... anyway he's gone.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It is always hard losing close friends and family, especially before their time.

Simon, Dash, and Deane ...thank you. Now I have a very sick Cat...what next.
As hard as it sounds, I'm not taking him to the after-hours vet and they're extraordinary charges...or maybe I will if I can find him. He was here, but he's done a runner.

Not sure what's going on here ...I've been expecting a funeral notice or something ...but nothing. I've had no comms from family members. So, I will leave it here ...with a clip I know he would have liked.
