Marty, I haven't d/l it meself yet BUT:
1) it is a .rar file so you might need 7Zip (a freebie) to unpack it. Unzip it to any temporary folder (I use the one 7zip creates in my Downloads folder) and then...
2) It is a third party add-on, so it goes into C:/ Users/Documents/AFS2/Addons/Scenery

Do not put third-party stuff into the C:/Program Fies/AFS2 area. Non-IPACS stuff in there will be wiped if there is an AFS2 update.

That should get you set, but I will install it ASAP and let you know all the gory details. Bris-bunn tomorrow morn for a haircut, but it won't be long after that

Good Morning Marty - I have it working, without any dramas. Just simple Extract, Cut/Paste, or Move if you prefer. I did rename the rar to KaiTak_beta_AFS2.rar, because Colin used the name of the main program for the name of his file. Full details later, don't work too hard. I should be home sometime after 1300, which is 1600 your time.

Marty... you should edit that title.
There is only one AFS2 guru around here, and I sit at his knee :o
Mike is the AFS2 flight model/avionics suite up to this?
I have only ever flown VFR in it.

Who would that be, Charl? Doesn't sound like me :o My flightsim experience is so vast that I can create the kind of stuff-up newbies only dream about, so I can usually find my way out of the problems I create, but that's all.
I was weaned on proper control columns, and big rumbly engines each with three levers to control them and half-a-dozen steam gauges to monitor them - push button glass cockpits are alien environments to me.

That said, since the last AFS2 update improved the flight-planning and auto-pilot features, we should be able to get to KaiTak, and there are lots of NDBs and VORs in Colin's scenery to make radio nav work, but I don't think we will be able to autoland in the AFS2 planes which can do that - the IGS was very much a hand-flown approach.

Thanks for those kind words...I did manage to get a haircut, but then it all went pear-shaped. You really don't want to know the details, but what should have been a simple 50min train ride and a 40min drive to get home was interrupted five times - and the trains run half-hourly - thanks to some sort of instant tummy bug. :(

Marty - what does your flying machine run, Win10 or Win7 ? Colin's instructions will work as is, but they can be improved on. That's what I want to provide for you and Charl.
Sorry for the delay

Bl**dy PMs !
I tried to send one message to both Charl and Marty (i.e splitpin). It wasn't accepted - "You are trying to send to too many people"
So I send it only to Marty and it went. The link it contained worked just like a bought one.
Then I copied the contents of that PM into one for Charl and found that only half of the link text was active as a link (blue) and the rest was black.
So I had to go back into my Google Drive and copy the link again...that seems to be working now.

Mike, I hope your feeling better and have been to the doc( bet you haven't)...don't mess around with that stuff mate.
I've got the HK thing going.... pretty good since it's only Beta....thanks for the guidance.
I've been trying to shoot that approach...but always too high...and bothered by annoying AI Concordes and DC-10's doing touch and go's.
Any way to get rid of them.?

I really wish AFS2 would allow,flap/gear movement in the pause, or a slew command. I fly the approach from way back... get configured .... arrive at the turn too high, and I have to do the whole thing again.... but lower, etc.
With slew (FSX/ P3D) I can save the config at the time, and re-start with changes in place.

Great we had a win! Try renaming airporttraf.tmb to airporttraf.tmb.off. That file is in scenery\places\hongkong\animation.
But why not have a nice beer instead - that's what I'm doing :D
Well done
