MSFS has really good default textures, but not so good mesh/elevation data. For NZ, I use either ORBX or freeware mesh (both good) - but I think what we're seeing in those two shots is mainly the detail and variation in the tiles themselves.

Eye candy is one of MSFS's strong points but there's still a long way to go in other areas, IMHO.

Adam.

P.S. Thanks, Marty!

Adam,

Thanks for answers!! I did not know that Orbx has region bases for MS2020!! Your mountains look extremely realistic!!!

BTW, speaking of this same topic on Mount Cook Airline, when you have chance and when you are not busy, can you please be kind enough to dig around in your pc to see if you have copy of Mount Cook livery for latest version of freeware Jahn DC-3 for use of FSX, please so that you can upload it onto your famous repaint website, please as you said you think you have it somewhere in hard drive or backup CDs? Thanks

Regards,

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure I never did a Mt.Cook paint for the C-47.
Or did you ask Adam?

I asked Adam if he has Mount Cook repaint somewhere in his pc for Jahn DC-3 :)

Sorry if it is off the topic question for Adam
