Three VR flight videos

I was determined that if I achieved nothing else this lockdown i was going to learn to record VR gameplay.

First up, what was going to be a trip from NZAR to NZPM but I got bored so landed at NZHN, this is the turn to final and the rollout. This was my first attempt to record VR so as much a proof of concept as anything.

"MSFS, default NZ scenery, default TBM930 with improvement mod and G3000 mod, turn to final and land at Hamilton. Hopefully if nothing else this demonstrates how much easier this is with some sort of head tracking than if you have to use the mouse to look around."

or if that doesn't work, it's here on youtube.

Second, How (not) to go to speedway when you can't go to speedway.
My first look at this plane and, more importantly, first time I've flown a taildragger in VR. It was never going to end well - spoiler alert, it didn't - and it didn't start well either. The Stearman was designed to be hard to see out of on the ground to get fighter pilot students used to not being able to see where they were going, and prop aircraft turn left when you put the power on because physics. If you're not ready for it, hilarity ensues....

MSFS default scenery, DC Designs PT-17 Stearman, NZAR to Waiuku Dirt Track

or if that doesn't work, it's here on youtube.

Third, After last night's (ok, this morning's) disastrous attempt to go to speedway even though we're in lockdown I decided to get serious and do it properly, this time 'No' or 'You have crashed' were not acceptable answers !

Hype Performance AFS H145, MSFS, NZAR across Papakura, via Clarks Beach and Glenbrook Steel Mill, across Waiuku, turn over Aka Aka (those chicken sheds are a cracker turning point) and in to Waiuku Dirt Track.

I did work out how to get rid of the mouse cursor but didn't realise I had to do it separately for each clip. Oh, and the grass needs cutting :)

or if that doesn't work, it's here on youtube.

These are fantastic  subscribed.
What do you see when operating switches ..... your hand? I'm fascinated by VR.

Cheers, but I have to say 95% of the channel is speedway stuff :)

You see a mouse cursor :)

Sometimes there are parallax problems - you're looking at two screens and they're quite different for things that close, you can see when I'm starting the copter there are often two cursors and they're miles apart, sometimes it helps to close one eye so you only see the image that the cursor works on - but one of the updates made the cursor snap onto whatever it's over so it's normally obvious what you're going to click. Normally. A few times starting the copter I had to close my left eye to find the switches.

In X-plane you can also use VR controllers as hands. You don't see anything but the controls highlight when you're on them and it's so much easier reaching for a control then turning it or flicking it than messing around with a mouse. Downside is (I'm not making this up) I keep losing my controllers because I take them off and drop them on the empty seat next to me.
