Rudder Pedals (give away and new recommendations)

Postby jpreou » Sun Jan 23, 2022 10:53 am

Morning all.

Finally got around to disassembling my Saitek Combat pedals (not an easy task!) and can't easily see what is wrong with them. Possibly the pot or a broken wire, but I can't determine that, so happy to give these away to someone more technically willing than me!

Which leads me to the main question; current recommendations for pedals. Wondering whether to invest in what would be my third set of Saitek's or go for something else? Thoughts?

I currently have the Thrustmaster TFRP Pedals - not real happy with them - do the job but I'm waiting for Honeycombs 'Charlie' pedals to come out and I'll upgrade

I previously had the Saitek ones which I wish I kept as they were much better https://fselite.net/products/charlie-rudder-pedals/

They do look good, but looks like a USD $300 launch price, presumably then including shipping and possibly GST on top of that.
With Saitek in country at $270 and me wanting to divert funds to IRL flying, I may end up looking at those again.
Though those Crosswind pedals are looking good too...

I have just physically installed joystick, trim wheel, radio panel, switch panel, multi panel and the TPM onto my rig, so slowly making progress. Just trying to determine whether SPAD.Next or the drivers from the Logitech website - bit more research to be done.

Pedals gone.
New pedals ordered - I *really* wanted the Crosswind pedals, but I did the maths and the difference between those and the Saitek are worth 3.6hrs real life flying - so I'm going Saitek again! Rather be in the sky those extra hours. Those Crosswinds do look bloody nice tho... :)
