Multiplayer MSFS2020 on Sunday, 6 Feb 2022

Postby ZK-DWF » Fri Feb 04, 2022 8:54 pm

I'm doing the following VFR flight on Sunday night (6-Feb-22) starting at 8pm.

Anyone want to do a group flight?

Starting off at Invercargill Airport (NZNV), flying west around the coastline of Fiordland, and flying up Doubtful Sound, over the hill and landing at Manapouri (NZMO).
Should take 1.5 to 2 hours. Suits GA aircraft. Plenty of landing spots for bush pilots, and opportunities for low flying.

Flying will be in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
Server is South East Asia.

Using Discord 'Microsoft Flight Simulator' (Use https://discord.com/invite/msfs if not already a member) for voice traffic.
We will use Flight 04 in the Multiplayer Room. If already used, then we will use 02 or 03. Look for me at ZKDWF

I'll see if I can make it. What aircraft? Do we have to use MS default aircraft, or are addon a/c ok?

GA preferred ... I might try the Kodiak or C208

If I make it then I'll likely be in the RV-7A, good for about 140kts cruise

Good flight last night - took just over one hour. JPREOU did full flight with me, and JOHNWAG was also with us for first part of it.
Discord worked perfectly, and the sound quality was good.
Great to fly with someone else for a change (thanks Jeff), and we discovered a lot of things that each pilot sees, and the other one doesn't in MSFS 2020 e.g. personnel on tarmac, vehicles.

I'll do another one on Sunday, 20 Feb. I'll give a bit more notice this time, and also include a few more landing/takeoffs in between. It'll be in the South Island somewhere,

Everyone is welcome, but I would recommend you get on to Discord, so that voice chat is available. None of us are experts at this, and it was great to discuss various topics.

Yes, interesting and another aspect to flight simming that I’ve not tried before. I got behind you and couldn’t keep up. Not able to communicate and had a failure of my Fulcrum yoke at the start so was trying to deal with that as well. Good fun though, thanks.

I was in the freeware Dee Jing RV-7A and it worked out well. Still haven't worked out how to track a flight plan or a VOR on the autopilot, but altitude and heading AP worked well.
So my first real M/P went well, and I look forward to another one.
Thanks all :)
