To my mind, this is the natural progression from flightsimming.
It is to RC flying what TrackIR is to the sim.
And, if you're going to strap on a VR headset to go even further, well do it for real, sort of.

That certainly has a real kick about it, amazing footage, and also something which makes me think 'hmmm, I could do that....' But I won't.

You could always sign on as top gunner crewman aboard a B-17, they've done that too!

I am thinking you would need a reliable buddy playing spotter on the flightline, FPV might lose situational awareness quite easily.
But it is an interesting thing; there is something freakish about doing a flyby, turning to look out over the wing... and seeing yourself standing there!
