We're not used to big narrowbodies, it looks so Long and Thin.

Very true, Charl - the 707 was an Army brat, the A340 was une demoiselle

They are using a new FLY BY WIRE and D.E.C.S plus POWERCRUISE for that type of performance. You can with D.E.C.S exceed the engines to 175% in a 767 and 737 but it involves something additional being added. POWERCRUISE is a safer alternative that gives better performance. In the video of the Brisbane C-17 they are using POWERCRUISE for additional power in the climb. It is new technology that improves performance and saves fuel.

There is new FLY BY WIRE, POWERCRUISE, NAVIGATION SYSTEM and D.E.C.S for the 757 maybe the RNZAF should call Boeing about getting an upgrade.

Very impressive demo flights.
According to the Boeing CEO; the 737-10 may never see the light of day. It all hinges on being able to certify it without an EICAS system (Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System).
Congress may need to get involved

Or is MCAS/EICAS all the same to Boeing these days, just a minor irritation.

It is all to do with it being certified under the old system. It changes towards the end of the year.

You'd think the corporate culture at Boeing would've changed, after the MAX debacle.
What's next, propeller retrofits to keep tooling costs down?
Hope the company survives.

Boeing has a good future, there is new technology for Boeing and they will continue to make awesome aircraft.
They may start making Space Ships in the near future, there is going to be a lot of Space Exploration in the near future in the Solar System.

They seemed to have good orders at Farnsborough. A lot of support from the US carriers.
There certainly needed to be a change in the company culture, starting at the top. The Boeing "buy out" of Douglas was a disaster for them and when things came off the rails.
