MSFS 2020: NZ Dakota Joyride

I thought the "Aeroplane Heaven" DC-3 was payware but seems Microsoft has embraced the developers and produced this as a MS product.
ORBX also is everywhere and good on them.

I've flown on this bird, there was a memorable trip years ago to Tauranga, nothing like coming to an airshow on one of the attractions!
Of course you go to Ardmore

Thanks to JK for pointing out this repaint which goes on the default aircraft.
And default has come a long way:

Off we go, just a jaunt around the Manakau Harbour

Look in at NZAA, why not?

It's a classic, and it's to the credit of Asobo and Microsoft and also Airplane Heavy that it's become a part of the sim and not an add on. The pictures remind me to use them more often and forget about those Mickey Mouse decals. There are some nice repaints.

Screenshot of the tire wheel is astounding and so the screenshot of DC-3 on final runway approach above waters is, too.

Those look like photos.

Highly esteemed praise, and thank you.

There is a backstory: In the heady days of FS9 one would set up a shot which avoided the blurry scenery bits, or the failings of a particular model, and after quite a lot of fussing, get close to what you were looking for.

Not so much in this sim. I culled the above from about 100 shots (no I do not get much flying done) any of which would have done duty.
I had plugged the PC into a home theatre 4k projector with decent AV system, and it - totally - blew my socks off.
Even the loading screen music sounded great... no wonder I went trigger happy.

Much later I discovered I had 15GB of screenshots stacked up, much resizing and compression for uploading required.
The above is the remnant that could take the requisite squeezing without becoming porridge.
No idea what the original resolution was, WIN 11 simply adjusts to the output as required it seems.

I am loving this sim.
