MSFS Update

Postby Charl » Tue Jun 20, 2023 8:38 pm

Lots of French scenery in the latest update.
However.
After setting up the downloads and looking at What's New in the Marketplace, I saw fit to try a quick turn around the Front end of Auckland City.
It's like a new sim; I didn't change any settings (and refuse to, out of sloth) but the shots look quite different to my eye, almost Kodak Ektachrome.
No edits, and live weather, a fine winter's day

Then just quickly nipped over to Waiheke, much faster than the Ferry!

Quick question: How accuracy do all of you find in the details of the city of Auckland offered by MS2020 in those screenshots?

I see the Container Ship Evergreen is in port. Hope it not going back via the Suez Canal

No problem, that piece of canal has been suitably widened :)

Aharon: last time I looked, that is exactly what Auckland looks like!

That is interesting to hear from you how accurate MS2020 is regarding the streets and city landscape of Auckland.

CHARL!! This ever-increasing bombardment of absolutely beautiful screen art is bordering on visual harassment.
The first shot alone made me hold my breath wondering what was coming next...... 110% Amazing
I tip my hat to you Sir .

Marty, thank you but you know, I had the same feeling when I opened the sim: Where's this coming from??
I am enjoying what Asobo and friends are doing.
And typically, just as I am settling in to the new sim, I hear it is obsolete!
MSFS 2024 is announced.

Great shots. A truly great visual simulator.
It will be interesting to see what MS/Asobo and LM present at the FS Expo this weekend. I was quite peeved not to get the trip to be there, although it has been very hot there. An FO I flew with yesterday said it reached 48 degrees with lots of humidity the other day…yuk.

Logistical failure of the year! :o
I think MS has done most of its marketing already, aiming for the Xbox crowd with Adventure-type content.
But it would certainly be worth braving the heat between airconditioned boxes, to go hands-on with the state of the art.
I've actually never seen another flightsim computer operating, in the metal.
