With the amount of exhaust smoke spewed out by the J79 engines, its nickname was either ol' smokey or simply the smoker.

The smoke should be filling the horizon edge to edge, or not at all.

Quite interesting in those shots looking at the difference between the US ones and the M or K version. I was at Evergreen a few weeks ago and their C didn't look right to me head on because I've spent the last few years staring at British ones.
