Been Away

Postby Charl » Mon Jun 03, 2024 1:57 pm

I've been distracted by RW issues, and so haven't run the sim or stopped by here for some time.
Marty has scolded me for this, offline, so I thought I'd download the 20GB update to MSFS and see.
Seems they have mended the ice floe that was Milford Sound in winter!

Scrolling through recent posts, I have a sense of deja vu:
Back when I was the sole champion of FS9 - for years - I looked forward to the day when a new sim would produce a consolidated user base and addons instead of diluting the effort across many platforms.
What I see here is a repeat!
Anything but MSFS!
Even the banner is clickable to AFS!
And hardly anything NZ!

Ehh maybe NZFF is an archaic concept, and the world belongs to XBox and TikTok.
Sorry to grouse, coming as it does without contributing here for some time.
So here's a shot from the updated MSFS 2020.
I'm glad it worked, the sim totally broke in a previous "SIM Update"

Shot mate !!! and welcome back from the RW :D

Yeah I've been sticking to P3D for now (even still buying the odd thing if heavily discounted), have also been doing some non-NZ simming so not really sharing that, but I figure any sharing is good sharing really, esp if this is your main forum hang-out

Thought the sim was back to normal, but the keyboard bindings are still borked

Haha yep, but you know, with v5.3 its been the most stable and best performing rig I've ever had, I'm not touching it again

The amount of stuff being developed for MSFS is mind boggling. Heaps of freeware and reasonably priced payware.
I still have P3D on a drive but haven’t used it for ages.

It is, and I find it kind of daunting in a way.
There is so much stuff, you won't get to the end of it.
Every Sim Update comes with many GB which exist in the depths of the sim, I have no idea where.

Makes it even more annoying that there are still core issues after all this many updates!
I'm really hoping MSFS 2024 deals to those, so you have a solid base to explore the sim without these silly little detractions.
