There's something cool about exquisite ugliness

Mount Cook Aerodrome (NZMC) - Martins Bay Aerodrome (NZMJ) New Zealand
Short SC.7 Skyvan
So far a nice flight at dusk, my first flight with this box. I wasn't expecting too much from this ugly duckling and was pleasantly surprised. STOL properties although this is officially not an issue. Came in at just over 60kts and things went well. With the short piste in Martins Bay there is nothing to waste. It was a good fit.

What are the two airports in your screenshots, please?

Marty you pushed your luck with the Air Truk………
Impossibly small wing chord for such a bulbous fuselage. Certainly an ugly duckling with zero chance of becoming a swan :)

Sorry for my clumsiness. This model comes from the Microsoft marketplace. It costs 9.99 euros. That's as much as a Hawaiian pizza, so it's cheaper than the Short 330/360 from Blackbox.
As far as I can see it's pretty neat. There's probably still something to repair on the box, like the landing lights that I couldn't turn off, but it's already a good bush plane, comparable to the Twin Otter. The flight model is remarkable. If you use the flaps or change something about the engine power, you have to trim them. It reacts surprisingly quickly when engine power is increased. The elevators are also effective.

In the meantime I had been out and about with these little things more often. The landing lighting thing was an operator error. The landing light was my control error. This is a three-way circuit and in the middle position the light is off.
