Comanche NZMK - to NZKM

Postby Naki » Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:13 pm

My favourite aircraft at the moment is the A2A Piper Comanche. Can't wait for their Aerostar to come out...one of my favourite aircraft by my favourite a/c developer.

Rather fraught flight .... inattention to my altitude and just about struck a mountain, then I lost manifold pressure due to carb icing and lost altitude again....and then no visibility at one end of the NZKM runway due to a typical West Coast heavy squall ...and a rounded off with bad landing...but no damage luckily.

Glad I wasn't with you on that one Naki.

Great series - I believe that one carries on with the A2A tradition of everything that opens and shuts and turns.
Kudos to you for airmanship, then.

Nice. I like flights like this because they seem to be closer to flying from A to B than airliners. In Germany, GA aviation is disappearing more and more. It was never a special issue in Latvia. Today's generation can hardly afford the prices for real flying. We have lost 1/3 of the GA and now there is a lot of business aviation left. The glider pilot or the sport pilot is a dying breed in our country. Then there are the fuel prices. I think you all know what's going on in Germany. The lousy “Greens” are ruining us together with the traffic light government. I make no secret of my frustration. But the Monkeys for Germany (AfD) are no better. It's like an old German joke. If elections could change anything, they would have been banned long ago. Please excuse my outburst of anger. But I'll leave it like that for now and just note. Let's keep taking flights like this.

Andreas - Here in Oz, a common thought is "It doesn't matter who you vote for, a Government gets elected"

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

I will remember this sentence, even if my English is terrible.
The correctness cannot be disputed. Oh my, how naive we were in 1989. Grin
