I didn't plan to record this, it was just a quick flight to relax this evening, but I was impressed how close the sky/weather was to what I saw outside my window here in the Hutt. If I squint, it could be real.
Not an exciting flight, I know, and yes, I'm aware that the stall warning went off on landing, but I am used to more lively weather when landing at NZWN.
By the way, this is Flightbeam's NZWN, an amazingly well-optimised airport which performs great in 2024.
Some things I'd like to see improved, there are no waves here, because the wind is mild, but in reality you'd always get waves in Cook Strait. The screen space reflections in the water are the same as 2020, in that they are not great. I really hope they find a better way to render these reflections, because it does let the sim down.
There don't appear to be any pines available, the native bush is represented somewhat, but nothing like real pine plantations.
I have a fairly low-end PC for 2024, I lower the resolution to 1440p, with high settings, so I only get mid-30s FPS. And although the low FPS are noticeable at times, the whole experience seems smoother than 2020.
