Look what turned up today

Postby toprob » Fri Dec 06, 2024 3:59 pm

Previously purchased aircraft have been slow to appear in my sim, as they get checked for compatibility by the developer. This old friend turned up today, it looks great over the Okarito lagoon.

Just prompted to install an Nvidia driver update, which used to scare me in the old days, but this has been simple and seems to have improved things in the sim.

In the first shot, you can see some performance stats -- 40FPS, yes that's 97% GPU, and 22% CPU. I do use frame generation, so the framerate is really 20, I suppose, it just runs at 40, and looks beautifully smooth. The GPU is hammered, which is always going to be a thing, I may upgrade this at some point. (Not at the moment, just spent $1000 on servicing the car), but the CPU usage is amazing, since it now uses all the cores, rather than hits just one.

Wellington seems to be a mix of photogrametry and custom models. The airport is Flightbeam's.
