For starting set them to 100% for OAT of 15c or below and to 50% for temps above 15c. At light off observe the TGT and if accelerating quickly toward the red line then start trimming back to slow it down. Some times it was necessary to “milk” the HP cocks to control the temperature during the start. After eng start set the trimmers to the setting obtained from the fuel calculator on the LH overhead panel. You set OAT next to pressure alt and get a % to set on the trimmers. This is also set up for landing as well. The command was “Trim up” and was the pilot not flying’s responsibility to set.
