G'day mate - I found this but the animations stopped working - some very heavy rain around at the mo.

Seat position adjustment index. It's so when you jump in all you have to do is adjust the seat to the correct alpha numeric setting so that it is the same all the time. I haven't seen one on an armrest before as usually they are at the base of a seat, at least in airliners.

Similar system on some cars...set up what suits you, and when you drive it after somebody else, put in your pin number and it auto adjusts.
