Haven't seen anyone mention this vendor here yet so thought I'd drop a post. FCScenery Is a one-man-band (guy named Fernando) who has access to various land-class and photoreal data/imagery sources who's putting them together in separate regional downloads for purchase for P3D (all versions). I know most of you have moved on to MSFS or XP etc now but just in case anyone still has a P3D rig this is defo worth checking out.
see https://www.fcscenerys.com/
There are NZ, AU and PNG packs available currently but so far I've not pulled the pin on those as I feel pretty happy with what Orbx offer for P3D already. YMMV especially if you don't have Orbx stuff currently.
What I have purchased however is a good number of areas that are currently not well served re photoreal or auto-gen in P3D. Areas in northern Africa (Libya, Egypt), areas with significant featureless or less densely populated areas (Iran, Brazil, Mexico, Texas), areas with fairly homogenous scenery that can look a little repetitive with Orbx (Colorado, Wyoming) and some South American areas that are just generally pretty meh by default (Chile, Peru, Argentina). I've bought a number of others too that are of interest to me to or that I sim in most often.
So far have found these FCScenery addons significantly improve the overall immersion, auto-gen placement is a LOT more believable, the photoreal is loads more life-like. Colouring can be a little oversaturated at times but generally it's pretty good and applied consistently. Other downside is like with any photoreal type solution there are some pretty big files to download and deal with as far as local storage goes. Regional packs I have vary from between 20GB to 200GB in size. You will need to make space somewhere. What I tend to do is swap one continent out to external storage and swap another in to internal when I feel like flying somewhere else for a bit.
Basically I'm STOKED with the improvement and there are really only two so far that have been disappointing (Indonesia & W.Virginia)
He offers a couple of free downloads (Florida, Switzerland) if you wanna fly before you buy.
Feel free to ask any questions, or if you wanna see any screenshots of a particular area. He has a decent sale going on this week where each region is $10usd (and no, I'm not on commission
