Hours on sims (steam)

Postby Splitpin » Mon Dec 08, 2025 5:54 pm

I'm not sure, and maybe don't want to know how long I've spent on the non steam stuff ...War Thunder, IL2,DSC etc.
But for the 4 aviation sims on steam I'm much lighter than I thought.

X Plane 12: 257hrs
AFS4: 69hrs
FS 2020: 912 hrs
FS 2024: 33hrs

That's almost 159 working days , just on those four  , I really need to try harder.

If you make it a rule always to run the sims at least at double speed, you could double your sim time instantly :P
Or, double speed half as long, which means you Get a Life.
Not to mention quad speed but the sim gets unstable then  .

Hours playing Games... ....
So...
I just fired up my copy of "FS2020" on Steam...
...and it tells me that I have been exploring the World by air for the past...
....3,358.3 Hours!.... :plane: .... :groupwave: ....!
That's not counting all the hours I have spent on all my other versions of Microsoft's Flight Sims, since 1982...where it all started... in Silicon Valley... :o ...!
That's a lot of hours spent pretending to fly aeroplanes...and together with the internet, vastly improved my knowledge of the world around me.... ...!
Having fired up the game, I am now dedicated to warming up one of my many Ultralight aircraft and taking to the skies to explore the breathtaking scenery surrounding the Sierra Nevada, Cascade, Rockies, Appalachian, Blue Ridge, and Coast Range Mountains...in North America (USA)....
...across the Atlantic Ocean, from where I live, in England! ... :o ...!
Apart from the sound of my engines, the peace and tranquillity surrounding me during my imaginary "flights" while supping on a small glass of Sweet Sherry as my prepared dinner slowly cooks on my trusty Gas Stove...is to die for... ... ...!
There you go, all my Flight Sim Chums...
Take to the Air.....with a Wing and a Prayer... ...!
..... :D ... :D ...!
Paul...and FS2020...in England... :uk: ...!

Wow !!! Paul that's impressive .. you musta seen a fair share of the virtual 2020 globe by now then?

Lately I've spent more time fecking with AI setups, creating my own wee scenery projects etc more so than flying. Gaming wise I think the most time I've spent last year or so actually playing has been in the game "No Mans Sky" >buck<
