Wonderful! I think my favourite is the T-6 formation shot (duly nabbed!). I'll work it up for the November banner!

Sometimes the banners create visual fatigue as the month wears on, mine especially bad I find.
Make no mistake they are generally great shots and well massaged into place by our resident guru.

All of this by way of saying: it's not happening with the February 2026 banner.
Mr. Bugdani created something that just wants you to come back and look some more.
Well that's off my chest.

I think I know what you mean, Charl ... but I'm so busy in RL at the moment that I'm not visiting NZFF half as often as I used to, so the banners wear well for me. However - I do agree: occasionally you get one that stands out more than the other [superb] ones - and Feb 2026 from Bugdani is one of them.

Do you think there'd be any mileage in doing a poll for the 2025 banners - see what comes out tops?

Nah whoever doesn't win it will feel hard done by, and that's an unfair position for Good Work.
But I think there might be an element in a Banner which somehow is more than just a screenshot.
So it gives food for thought: what would that be?
A story?
A meaning to the hobby?
A nod to some back story in NZ aviation?

These thoughts come to the fore when there's been a great bottle of Cab Sav shared among Great Minds.
Tomorrow will be a different story I'm sure :D

Back in FSX days, I entered some 'themed' screenies, but they weren't up to standard. There was one of Southern Cross sighting Taranaki after a very fraught crossing of the Tasman; one of the L10 mail plane which landed on the beach at Chch because the airport was fogbound, and another of Jean Batten looking for somewhere to park her plane at NZAA. (It's still hanging on the terminal roof)
I can't do these again in AFS, because the aircraft are not available, but if someone in MSFS wants to use the ideas, please feel free.

This harks back to early screencomp days - when I tried to implement a scoring system based on a) Visuals *and* b) Storyline. Sadly, it didn't get much traction at the time.

Another idea to prevent banner boredom would be to randomise the banner for every screen refresh. Ideally, it should be taken from the current years' offerings, but could include some from the previous year when there only a handful for the current year.

The main problem is that all the banners have a baked in date - which could be a bit confusing (!).

I quite like the screen refresh idea, and they don't need to be dated, simple credits would do.
Your rotating startup screens for MSFS are just superb, I'm sure the community can build up a store like that in short order.

Banners now randomised - though only two to choose from at the moment. I could re-edit the existing (two) banners to lose the date info.
