I'm not sure that's fair Ian. In general people do get good advice and help and even those stirring things up a bit get a fair bit or rope before they are tied off and to be fair some people are rather rude and aggressive with their comments. Personally I've had a most positive response from my questions/comments - maybe it all depends on how the questions/comments come across.
I've had no problems with Global Vector and have checked both airports mentioned above and they are fine for me - maybe it's the mesh that's the problem?![]()

I think this is one area both I and Greg checked before he purchased the Global just how well it did change the wold wide texture in FSX , one of the many default flights starting from Seattle really showed results, if it fixed texture .. now dose it square away elevation issues .. REALNZ omaka for example ?Last edited by Ian Warren on Sat Jan 11, 2014 10:16 pm, edited 1 time in total.

The fix is to remove
AF2_NZOM.bgl
AF2_NZWB.bgl

Thank you very much for checking! I have FS Global Ultimate which I believe is the right kind of mesh to be used. This was the answer I liked to have received in the FTX forum - can this issue be replicated by anybody or not. Not sure what to make out of this, though. I have disabled all other sceneries.
Thanks again.Cheers,
Martin

They are the ones, but i was wonder if they have correct the levels so its to suit all party developers rather having to dive into switch off or remove files , question is did this - Global X they have put everyone back on the same playing field ?Last edited by Ian Warren on Sun Jan 12, 2014 10:15 am, edited 1 time in total.

That's an interesting question. Does FTX Global Vector's recommended mesh change airport elevations to match the mesh? If that's the case, then it won't be of much use to anyone who has a lot of scenery addons for their favourite area.
I've had a few inquiries about Real NZ and VLC compatibility with this, and I'm not in a position to test it out for myself. So how does this behave with other NZ scenery addons?

I prefer the ORBX due to the textures and treelines , Dec two years back on its release, once leaving Christchurch and head south real world weather .. you swore you were over the Canterbury plains .. simply the texture and the treeline - the let down was the elevations with readily available factual data - would not matter on the small grass strip but well known regional airfields, its found to be up and down like a yo yo , this was were i was wondering dose this Global Vector change and return the elevations to the correct levels ? .toprob wrote:QUOTE (toprob @ Jan 12 2014,11:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If that's the case, then it won't be of much use to anyone who has a lot of scenery addons for their favourite area.
Exactly it .. good example is what Doug currently working , textures for both VLC and ORBX , seen the recent , they are superb!Last edited by Ian Warren on Sun Jan 12, 2014 1:55 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Meanwhile all of a sudden several people replied to my KFHR Friday Harbor Airport report. They are confirming the airport elevation issue here and - at least partly - at KSEA. Not easy to understand the root causes here.Cheers,
Martin
