Looks promising - the Airtourer is quite a diferent beast from the Airtrainer though - the Airtrainer has a different powerplant (210hp CT-4A/B - 300 hp CT-4E- the Airtourer had 100 to 150 hp engines ), panel, control sticks, fuselage, canopy, flight characteristics etc. The Airtrainer was derived the from Aircruiser which was a 4 seat derivative of the Airtourer. I would love to see a NZ civilian colour scheme such as this one which would ideal for flying around Omaka.

looks similar to the grumman aa1

From "Aircraft of the RNZAF" by Duxbury/Ewing/MacPherson published 1987

AESL Airtourer T6/24
150 HP Lycoming 0-320-E1A
4 Aircraft (NZ1760 -1763): 1970 - (I believe 1993)

....and the T6/24 bit is important, the T6 was the 150hp model, and the /24 means 24V electrics. I should know, I flew all 4 of the RNZAF ones, and soloed in 62 way back in 1989 smile.gif

Spectacular aeroplane to fly, and very similar IMHO to the Airtrainer to fly, except the tourer actually had a better power to weight ratio (IIRC 1750ish lb's, with 150Hp)
Really *really* looking forward to this model!

To revise an old thread - looks like this Airtourer will soon see the light of day as an Orbx product....if you are member of the Orbx forums - pictures here:
