Because It is almost impossible to assemble hydrographic information for the inland lakes, I use a simple distance function to infer depths/colours (i.e. I assume it will be deeper/darker blue at the edges, shallower/lighter blue at the edges). Im hoping to obtain proper hydrographic information for the coastal areas because, as you may know, hydrography isn't as simple as a distance/depth relationship- Some parts of the coast stay shallow for a large distance from shore, some drop right off.Breathtakingly gorgeous FS landscapes for New Zealand.
