I remember that is what we all said about FSX. It is true to some degree, but I remember talking to a guy in Dick Smith about it about a year after it was released, he said go for FS9 because unless you work at NASA, you'll never find a computer to run it.![]()
FS9 was good, FSX is better. I expect great things from Flight.....

Time will tell. If they have redeveloped the code to take advantage of GPU processing and DX11, then things will be alot different this time around. IF?
The latest Graphics cards are small super computors on their own.Last edited by AndrewJamez on Wed Jun 22, 2011 6:09 pm, edited 1 time in total.

If Microsoft want sales they will do better! They seem to be realising now what the community is after and if you take a look at each webisode you will find there is a focus on a certain context within the webisode. My running dialogue is below:
Announcement feature: Water shaders, lighting, sky environment
Webisode 1: Seems like framerate testing here
Webisode 2: Aircraft shadowing and gauge texture
Webisode 3: Lighting, Water, Ground shadows and textures
Webisode 4: a combination of webisodes to date--------------------------------------

It is possible that only certain areas have been mapped (e.g. Hawaii). This would make airliner flights near impossible, which would explain why we've only seen GA aircraft. This would also explain why Aerosoft, who mainly specialise in scenery are very unhappy with MS.... Considering the sheer *volume* of data needed for such high detail scenery, I'd say it's unlikely they'll be able to cram (and sell) the whole thing as one package. It'll probably settle down to something like what we have now: cruddy default (apart rom one showcase area) then let the other manufacturers do their bit for them.
Even now (inb FSX) to get anything decent (even for a cross Tasman flight - and get good scenery at most primary airports in both countries) I've had to buy all of Rob's addons, VLC and the ORBX combined (plus a few airports). Add all that up ... not cheap!!!

Is that you want for a real GA experience?? Just dipa rag in petrol and hang it under ya desk

And looking nice, too. Is that pilot wearing sunnies at night? Great clouds in #6.
This announcement has spoilt my fun keeping up with the 'Flight project cancelled/on hold' thread over at Avsim.
