Read and report on flightsim developers progress of upcoming or completed products

Postby Codge » Mon Sep 04, 2006 5:19 pm

I've always wondered about how a reviewer gets to review payware products. From reading reviews in the past it seems they have to pay for the product first so they can download it as they often talk about how smooth this procedure is. Or do they somehow get a freebie token by the author so that they can review it?

In the early days I used to ship more freebies than paid-for scenery, but these days I'm a bit more careful:)
Certainly it pays to offer stuff to those whose job it is to review. On the other hand, out of every 10 'review' copies which go out, I'd be lucky to see one review anywhere.

I suggest Flykiwi as a name. Otherwise NZ simulations.

I was offered to review Christians Mesh+Topo package after he read my VOZ Tours and decided it would be good to promote his scenery via a tour. Unfortuantly, I am currently letting him down by delyaing the tour thanks to a dud graphics card I sold, but I will resume it as soon as possible ;)

Well, I was thinking 'nzfs' (New Zealand Flight Simulation) keeping with the name of these forums, and also the four letter ICAO coding. And I've done a quick search for available NZ domains at nzregistry.co.nz and nzfs.org.nz and nzfs.net.nz have come up, among others. If you would like to donate one Robin, that would be greatly appreciated ;) .

Looks like noone has any problems with 'NZFS', so that will be it then. :D

Good onya, I've registered nzfs.org.nz
I'll retain ownership of this, simply so that in the event of the site shutting down, it'll revert to me.
Alex -- let me know where to point it.

A little bit of an update, we have made good progress, and have semi-completed some of the content. You can find the site at www.nzfs.org.nz. ;)
