Hi all.

Thanks to a terrific job by Alister ("Albatross") the VANZ now has many many real world routes and a ever growing fleet from B1900s to A320s! (I had to be offline this weekend cos of going over our 150H internet limit and it gets really pricy per hour over it)

So if you are thinking of joining now is a great time: Click here to go to flynet

Hey Jimmy,

just a question... when i look at the preflight document for the flights I have been doing (NZTG - NZAA and NZAA - NZTG), the ROUTE is listed as: HN

any idea what this means?? Am I supposed to be following certain NAV routes/markers/airways etc? I looked for an HN on the map, but the only thing I could find that was close was NZHN, and it seems a bit of a waste flying across to NZHN and then up to NZAA. when you can just fly direct.

cheers,
Jared

Hi Jared. Yes the HN is the route. When I enter a flight it gives me a page with boxes from origen arvl airport etc.. theres also a optional route box. When I was adding flights originaly I looked up the route with the VPA flightplaner and thats what it gave me for the NZTG-NZAA flight ;)

In no way do you have to fly to thes navaids :D Youl notice not many flights have any route info, its quite time consumming adding it to a flight.

btw I forgot the mention VANZ also has some fictional heli ops for any rotor heads that wana do some VA flying.

is this an online tool?? I wouldnt mind having a look. Its not that I desperately want to fly the routes, but as I see it... anything worth doing, is worth doing right :)

Yep, its an online tool, however only available if you are a member of Virtual Pilots Association (VPA), at www.virtualpilots.org. ;)

There are other route generators around, for example the one on the IVAO NZ page, and the VATPAC page...

I am VERY grumpy, I just flew a 3 hour flight across the tasman and had the pilot client running the whole time and once I had compltely shut down it never came up with the arvl and end time, it never said flight completyed like it should so I just exited fs and then the client said it lost conection to fs and flight went to booked state

So there gos 30mil the airline could have had  im sending a email!
