Looking good Jon - even the Kiwis look good :P (although they look suspiciously like the correct Kiwi rather than what is actually on 'DAK?)

One small point to help make the scheme complete - kiwis always face the front and, on the wings, it is always kiwis facing front, feet towards the fuselage :)

Nice work so far though... can't wait to see the NAC scheme.

Yes, kiwis corrected etc, Zolt gave me the heads up on that in anticipation of being 'corrected'

And speaking of N.A.C...a small reveal, about 95% done, got to re-align the text slightly. Anyone know what font N.A.C use to use for the 'National Airways...." and the Skyliner on the nose? Damn if I could find an identical match....

The final skin for the initial release is nearly complete, this one depicting ZK-AYL 'PIWAKAWAKA', the livery seen in 1952. Some minor mods still to complete but nothing overly major.

Wow! I like the Warbirds paint, but those NAC ones are stunning

As far as fonts go, you probably won't find an exact match, as lettering was pretty much hand done in those days - particularly bits like the script on the nose. Other than working off a good scanned image all you can do is to go for the right 'feel' - which I reckon you already have :)

[sorry about picking on your kiwis... can't help myself  )

Any chance that 'PIWAKAWAKA' will see life inside of fs2004?

She looks a treat Jon!

 All good, am keen to ensure accuracy where possible, some things you have to compromise on, others, like the kiwis, are an easy fix and worth it. So thanks, always appreciate feedback.

Once we get the FS9 version going, absolutely! But you wont see this on the current default FS9 DAC. That skin is simply to big a pain in the posterior.

As the DC3 project James and I have been working on continues to unfold, so does the scope of what we are trying to achieve.

Version 1 of the model will be released on the Forum Field 2007 CD for the Airshow, but its Version 2 that I want to give you an insight into now.

We will be releasing 3 models, a standard DAK with rear door, a Viewmaster DAK seen here, and a cargo DAK, with double opening doors.

I wont go into feature details as yet because these are being evolved as we go, but I will say this DC3 will leave the current FSX default model for dead once James is done. What we will see is the first generation of pure FSX aircraft allowing the type of features previously only dreamed about.
