You were more than welcome to join us, it would have been good to rant at someone else with all the issues we were having.... <_<

The RNZAF repaint will be an airshow exclusive until after the airshow's finished

Crikey, Icecream...FSX, Icecream...FSX..OMG, the choices!! To be honest I'm not sure FSX would have come out on top between those two...

As for the rugby, meh.

We are pleased to announce the Program of displays and pilots involved in 'Forum Field 2007'.

user posted image

As you will see the flying begins at 7pm when our first 3 ship flyby will open the show, leading nicely into the solo displays of each aircraft. Necessity will dictate that the server be shut down and restarted at certain points, this is required as I will need to make some aircraft changes, and as you know the person hosting the server can't change in the server unlike everyone else. (SP1 may change this, but I shan't hold my breath)

As stated, times are subject to change, we anticipate the schedule moving ahead more quickly than shown, so expect to be finished by 10PM as planned. 10 minutes for each display is a maximum average, please plan for 5.

The 3 ship flybys will all see the two aircraft not involved in the first solo display breaking right, the then displaying aircraft will break left to begin their solo display. Each 3 man display group will need to communicate well to ensure the next solo display begins after the preceding one ends e.g. Ian in the Harvard completes his solo display, Jimmy in the King Air should be no more than 1 nautical mile from the airfield to begin his display etc.

All airborne but non-displaying aircraft will need to ensure they remain well outside NZFF airspace while they wait there turn (min 3 NM), and once again after completing their display. All displaying aircraft are expected to make a full stop landing in front of the grandstands at completion of the displays. An example would be the first three aircraft, Harvard, King Air and C130. Scon, as the last of 3 may completes his routine with a full stop landing, vacates the runway so Jimmy can then land the King Air, vacate and Ian will land the Harvard at the end and vacate. Airshow Control will direct aircraft on the day to ensure things run smoothly.

Questions, issues etc PM me. A PDF version of this Program is available HERE

A note of clarification, the 3 ship fly pasts scheduled at 7pm and 920 are not team displays, just fly pasts, ideally in a V formation. However, just getting some of you working together to be in the same piece of sky at the same time will be achievement enough let alone in formation.

So anyone who has grand ideas about formation flying etc forget it, thats why we had team displays, and that option is long gone now.

Landing will be restricted to the main asphalt runway, why? because thats where the crowd line is located, landing anywhere else will be unseen. The grass strip is not for displays this year, but who knows what 2008 will bring.

Jon, who will be controlling? Regarding landing procedures, I would recommend having it as an informal service - all aircraft are VFR, contact the tower for taxi, get cleared for takeoff then maybe "cleared to start routine", then once finished, "request joining". Also, it was more spectacular at omaka when they had multiple aircraft landing on the same runway at the same time, hopefully this will be allowed also.

ATC will be informal, mostly coordination between aircraft. ATC will also be conducting commentary hence why they and pilots will talk. No standard ATC rules apply as such.

As for multiple landings, thats up to individuals flying at the time, if all 3 want to land at once so be it but its not the preference, if 1 doesn't want that then I expect that to be respected and sorted between the 3.

No one asked me directly, are people scared of me? :ph43r:

The preference is that aircraft do their own thing, as I said above, but if you are dead set on a group landing then so be it. I hope it adds to the display rather than detracts from it.

The Forum Field Scenery created by David Hall, and with add-ons by myself, is now available. This is the full scenery file so nothing else will be required for the Airshow itself.

This is an FSX only file, it will not run in FS9.

Unzip, place the NZFF folder in your add-on scenery folder and then activate in the normal way.

Once you receive all the other files either on the CD or electronically, the new cameras that enhance views across forum field will make sense.

IMPORTANT NOTE - This file is FREEWARE and is not intended for general public release beyond NZFF, as are any of the other files made available on the CD or peer to peer transfer. If David chooses to release the scenery at a later date then that is for him to decide, we appreciate your support and respect in this matter.

Download the file HERE

Files

So people know, I am away from Tuesday afternoon until next Sunday evening, so if you have sent self addressed envelopes for CD's they will most likely arrive while I am away. I will sort these out Sunday evening when I return to ensure they are in the post Monday. :)

If you want to receive the files over MSN, clearly you will need to either get these tonight or wait for me to get back next week.

For those who haven't communicated with me either way I suggest you get your A into G, time will run out and it would be a shame if you ended up missing out.

So far the following people have either received files or have made arrangements for peer to peer transfer or to receive a CD:

h290master
ZK-TJL
Brennanx
Capt Hamish
Jimmy
Ian Warren
Charl
Monkeybdg
Scon

The rest of you, I have no idea what you are doing.

Just so long as we spectators don't have to sweep up the bits afterwards... ;)

ahaha, a C17, 321..and a 744?

I'll be making a standard instrument approach for my final landing, I think its best if we keep the formation to the minimum, theres not much time to practice ;)

That looks good Jon, glad you aint got me in the 744 straight after the beech, I think I may have become rather stressed otherwise :P Thats a well organised schedule, great work

Best get practicing :plane:

Hmm, did I not give you the spectator model with rubbish bag and pick up stick? D@mn, who's going to tidy up after the crowds have gone? <_<
