Fletcher Turbine BETA 2

Read and report on flightsim developers progress of upcoming or completed products

Postby deaneb » Thu Feb 07, 2008 6:30 pm

I have uploaded a (hopefully) final version of the Walter Turbine Fletcher.
This is a full package as I would upload to the FS sites, but I need to test it out first to iron out the final bugs.

****** Due to some faults this file is not available to further notice ****** - aaah the joys of testing !

Report any problems back here or deaneb@ihug.co.nz

The main changes are
- added a FS2004 compatible gauge set, with all custom gauges except the Attitude indicator, which uses the Cessna 182 default (I just could not get an AH to work)
- corrected problem of elevator freezing when aircraft over rotated on take off
- corrected problem with selecting gear up and crashing on landing !

Fingers crossed this time - heres hoping this works for FS2004 users too

Deane

Hi Deane
Having major problems with the Walter Turbine Fletcher in 2004, It wont load and crashes the computer. Good news is I placed the reworked gauges into your first Beta model and the gauges work in 2004.

Hmmm - got to wonder what is different about this model vs the last one. The only thing I can think of is the textures which I re made to DXT3, but that should not matter.

Great - screen shot looks good - the Attitude indicator looks like it needs tweaking to be moved more central ??

I'd like to know what is causing the other model to fail ?? Any chance you can sub in (one at a time) the good model and texture folders to see what may be causing the crash.

cheers

Hi Deane,
I placed all texture folders from the beta 2 model into the first beta 1 model main folder and all works fine
Hope that helps.

Cheers - It should not be the sound or panel, so that only leaves the model. Strange. I'll need to figure this one out, otherwise I might have to upload as separate files - one for FS2004 and the other for FSX.

Sounds good. What ever the problem is, when it caused fs9 to crash to desktop it would not let me open the main fs9 aircraft folder to allow me to remove the Walter Turbine Fletcher folder.
As an FS9 user, I would like to take the Opportunity to say thank you for going to all the extra work to allow fs9 users to enjoy such an amazing aircraft.

Nosecone - looks like it could be the .air file thats causing the issue. I got FS2004 running on my laptop and tried it out - all OK now.
I will re-up tonight.
