I've just noticed the date of the flyin -- Trolly's original email asking whether NZPP would be released in time had the date as the 26th:) so I'll need to rush it through this week...
Here are some preview shots. The autogen around the airport is nuked by the airport ground polygon, so I need to place trees and houses yet.
All the scenery beyond the airport extents is 'Real NZ' Wellington, which won't be included in the freeware NZPP.

Nice textures you have

so how is this going to work? are we all just fly in and do watever? or is there like a plan of some sort?

I wouldn't mind knowing this either.

Would be great to be able to fly in with this Su-26
http://www.wspilots.com/index.php?page=4&a...mp;file_id=1798

Just under 4mb, has a nice VC, sounds etc. Either way I'm happy flying in with a fletcher or a moth.

A detailed NOTAM will be issued a few days prior to the event when I post the IP address, but basically the idea is to fly in from your home town or any other airstrip in the country that you wish, and chat with other members (on teamspeak or type in the textbox) en route, then all land together at roughly the same time, park up, and watch a few individual displays/do circuits/whatever you fancy :)

Thanks for the new Su-26 link by the way Peppermint, won't be adding any more new aircraft to the list this time but would love to see a repaint of that in the colours of Jurgis' machine from Wanaka!

Ah well, guess I'll have to get some time in with the fletcher and see what I can do with it.

If just say, users wanted to, could we use default FS9 vehicles (and maybe FSX can change the Description so FS9 can match it with FSX)?

Although this may be too hard

How would not having the RealNZ scenery affect the multiplayer experience?

There is a free version of NZPP already available for FSX, and I'll upload the FS2004 version to my site tomorrow.
The FS2004 version is working, but there are issues which I'll address in the future. In particular, the lighting is a bit flakey, and night textures need some work. At the moment I'm furiously placing houses and trees around the airport, as the ground poly has removed them all -- did I say I no longer like designing for FS2004?
I'm happy with the look of the airport -- highres textures+FS2004 work particularly well.
There is also one small issue which will affect those without 'Real NZ' Wellington, but with NZ Topo. There is a power pole at the end of the runway, which I can't make disappear without a major addition to the scenery, which I don't have time for.

...yeah, but I did say it would be released yesterday. Hopefully today, but I did put my shoulder out playing badminton yesterday, and I'm running on half speed.
Put it this way, it'll go 'live' today, but it may be as it stands at the moment.

Take your time Rob. Calm Down guys, would you rather him release a buggy version so we cant do it at all, or a very nice working version. Plenty of Time!

Though, I definently am looking forward to it Rob! :)

NZPP for FS2004

Ok, this is now available for download from my website. It's about 10MB. and uses an auto-installer. Please read the NZPPreadme.txt before installing!

Since this was produced primarily for inclusion in 'Real NZ' Wellington, it works best with this. It does work fine as a stand-alone scenery, but I may not be able to offer solutions to any problems which arise specifically from using this without 'Real NZ' Wellington. In particular, I have no control over how the surrounding area appears, as this depends on your landclass scenery.

One thing I forgot to put in the readme -- it requires a 75 metre mesh as a minimum!

I'll put up a product page later, but in the meantime I'm taking the afternoon off to get my shoulder seen to.

Luckily FS is a pretty harmless sport, I might stick to that... but I do enjoy playing badminton once a week with my daughter -- good for a laugh. I pulled my shoulder late last year, and every Tuesday night when I end up in pain I promise my daughter I'll go the doctor. Today the doctor said she was surprised I could play at all -- sure I can, but it bleedin' HURTS!
I still manage to win my share of games:)
