Can get it for about $80 a month on a 24 month contract (paying about $550 for phone on that plan). So probably a few options out there, not just the $250 per month plan.

Yes but it's still pretty expensive.
Nothing compared to my $200 Tcom phone and $10 every now and then.
And what did you expect from the media? To headline the cheaper plan and then say but it gets worse?
That wouldn't be anywhere near as sensationalist and 'media-tastic'.

Oh for sure - I wouldn't buy it, I already have a phone I bought earlier this year (necessitated by it's predecessors unfortunate trip through the washing machine...).Anthony wrote:QUOTE (Anthony @ Jul 9 2008, 08:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>And what did you expect from the media? That's exactly what I'm saying - they're hyping it up.

Beside the point, but I almost had to replace my phone this year, I dropped it in a glass of water
Didn't work properly for ages, but it seems to be fine now.brownbox wrote:QUOTE (brownbox @ Jul 9 2008, 12:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>all this hype goign around on the internet and news about a phone that has trouble with custom ringtones....
That's the jolly internet for youand the media. Both of them are useless (with the obvious exception of NZFF of course)
My Samsung phone also has problems with custom ringtones though. My phone has trouble with just about anything though
