Every operator I know of, terminates once they're on the ground at uncontrolled aerodromes, incase of an over-run or something.

Really ? what operators are they ???
I cant think of any off the top of my head who make that a dead set rule, apart from 1 or 2 clubs etc on training flights etc...
Most operators/pilots I know would use a bitta good ol fashioned practical common sense on such matters...
Even so, if that were to happen the wreckage would be long cleared and probably scraped by the time atc clued onto the fact.
Anyways, the reason being is there is no radio reception on the ground there which is also why we dont get a clearance until we are airborn on departure,- unless it is an IMC day where by we would get by phone before departure. (or terminate by phone)Last edited by A185F on Tue Jul 29, 2008 2:52 pm, edited 1 time in total.
