So how hard are the tests?
Are they just a few multi answer questions? (easier than NCEA?)

Well, if I can self study and (hopefully) pass them... then anyone should be able to! winkyy.gif

I went through school when they used to actually teach you things and you could actually fail (oh no, not the naughty f word!), so I cannot comment on how it compares to NCEA... the general format seems to be multi-guess... where you get like 4 options... 2 are usually obviously wrong... and 2 seem to be right...

as pointed out... you need to read the question... and then read it again... and then read it a 3rd time... then read the answers and be very careful on how they have been worded... as I pointed out, words like "should" and "must", or "includes XXXX" and "only means XXXX" can be the difference between the correct answer and an "almost" correct answer...

Lots of people have told me that ASL Exams only test your ability to pass ASL Exams... not your knowledge of the subject!! dry.gif Perhaps a little harsh, as you do have to know something about the subject, but exam technique is very important...

I am now (not very) patiently waiting the 7 working days for my results... kinda wish I had paid for priority marking now... it is going to ruin my weekend waiting for those %#$@~! results!

I am guessing that as that particular entry was updated on 10 APR 08, that the exam was not modified to match...

Ha, yer, I had the same thing happen to me in PPL Law, I updated the AIP VOL 4 a day before going into the exam (it was due), which turned out to be a really bad idea, because it turns out, a question was asked about something that had just been transferred to VOL 1 in that previous ammendment (I knew this in the exam because i remembered removing it) angry.gif
But of course, i gave the question a guess, and as luck would have it, i even got it right.....although i got quite a few others wrong laugh.gif and just scraped through... Bring on CPL exams thumbup1.gif

It still has to be in the syllabus, or how are they going to put it on a KDR? rolleyes.gif

KDR's? Don't get me started on KDR's! Nothing worse than a bunch of students pestering you to sign off their KDR's the day before their flight test! Although I do manage to get quiet a few free coffees and assorted confectionary if I say yes.......

Have you got the exact question and answers they gave, ASL could have been putting up smoke and mirrors to trick young punters (as they do). When I teach IFR law, Ive always mentioned oxygen again.

What is the minimum supplementary oxygen (may have said for pax?) to be carried on a turbine powered pressurised aircraft on an ATO(pretty sure it was ATO)?

A. 30min
B. 20min
C. 15min
D. 12min

30 minutes rings a bell. And only for 10 percent of the pax too? It's been a while since I've done any Law.

Bring on the Monteiths Keegan!

Congrats HCP!

Now off topic : The man flu is so much more serious than the woman flu. The ladies try and tell us that we are just playing up how bad we feel but they don't seem to appreciate that it's a fact the Man Flu is 100 times (if not more!!!) more severe. Here's a test how different things affect the sexes. I bet if you kicked your lady in the nether region she wouldn't feel it as much as you would.... same goes in reverse for a well timed slap across the chest. That proves that the different sexes feel pain differently smile.gif

Enjoy being waited on .... and if not, demand it!

Wish I was confident enough to try with a weeks study!! I've read the first 2 or 3 chapters and my head is spinning... drool.gif crank angle this... compression ratio that... Brake Power... Indicated Power... Big End Bearings... Rockers... arrrrghhhh.... I thought this was why we had LAME's??

I get in and turn the key! ninja.gif

The only thing I really remember from PPL Air Tech was the 4 strokes...

Suck
Squeeze
Bang
Blow
