I was under the impression the VC was not ready yet. The externals sure look nice.

The VC *is* available, sure a lot of it is eye-candy so far, but its well worth downloading as is, just follow the forum instructions. The perspective, detail and lighting seem very nice. Here's some panel screenies I just took. Oh and I can vouch for Emil Serafino Jr's sound set for the Trent 800s (which I think is what AirNZ run?), its a 40MB download (b777_trent_800_series_sound.zip) but very nice. Quite a distinctive sound huh.

Man, as everyone else has already said, its so amazing the quality these projects are delivering for no cost to the community, no doubt its a launch-pad for the modellers and painters etc to go onto other professional opportunities, but even so it must be a huge undertaking:

Notoriously difficult to capture, virtual cockpits.
Perhaps a small video...

So ive had a quick view through here and mite of missed it but is this for FS9 or X or both ,doesnt even let you know on the site ,plus that site is confusing ,like full model base /paint jobs downloads would be more helpful than that setup ...
So has anyone tryed this in X if its not built for it ?

Nice shot and nice video Deeknow and Charl.
Looks wicked. I downloaded it yesterday but my internet died halfway through and didn't come back for 2 hours.
Most boring day off school ever.
I'm going to try again today because this looks like a very worthwhile download even if for the VC alone.

When you download a texture (which with posky includes panel, sound, model etc) there is an fsx folder which is just 737 panel and sounds

Someone should start up a school with a Diploma that reads
"This Graduate is Guaranteed:
1. Not Affiliated to any shady group whatsoever
2. to Love aeroplanes and would never ever hurt one, even accidentally"
and get it underwritten by the major airlines. angry.gif

I used to love going up to the cockpit and shooting yarns with the drivers on long-haul flights.
Broke the monotony for them too I'm sure.

Realy great chunk of freeware, Also just a side note about the VC, you can change the eicas displays to show engine, gear and flap windows instead of just the compass by pushing the buttons under the bottom screen.

I downloaded this today.
It looks very very nice even on my old hunk of junk.
I installed it into the FS2002 folder I have on my computer as well and it even works in FS2002.
Next I will install the virtual cockpit as it doesn't come with it by default.
Took quite a few screenshots which I might post later along with some of the other POSKY models.

Anthony, be aware that there is a DXTBMP version of the VC which may be lighter on computer resources than the 32-bit version.
I have it installed now for comparison, and it doesn't look half bad.
In fact, it probably won't even show up on a posted screenshot.

Some more thoughts on this bird:

1. Flight model is excellent, including ground handling
2. Great texturing, repainters will have a ball on this one
3. The profile is exactly right, one of the first FS models to do so
4. Ground animations included, AES almost superfluous
5. The Trent sound set by Devyn J. Silverstein on AVSIM brings this bird to life.
Fan blades rotation visible from rear of engine!
6. Meljet set the standard years ago, for modelling the main gear truck.
This one takes it a step further.

And on the subject of underpinnings, this has always been a POSKY strong point.
This one does not disappoint.

Conclusion: the POSKY guys have taken the state of the art a step further, in a great, consistent, package.

Cheers Charl, thanks for that. Nice shots there by the way.
I have to add that I still really like this model.
I agree with the bar setting thoughts - the POSKY 777 really is an excellent addon, especially for freeware. thumbup1.gif

Very nice shots Charl, noticed all those to. Check out the back of the engine when you engage reverse thrust. One of the first I've seen to model those flap things (if they're on other engines?)
