Icarus have promised a revised model with better paints and textures, so rather than twiddle my thumbs, I have been preparing

And of course she's pretty in red. Very much so...

Ooh that red one is a sassie little number - built for downside up and smoke.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

But Chris there is something wrong with JAG - the model profile isn't correct, the moving surfaces have that PlayDough look to them...
The JAG font needs to be a little fatter, and the canopy trim should be black.
I hope Icarus can fix the model, it's amazing the definitive Pitts hasn't been produced by at least half a dozen talented modellers yet.

Theres always this one.. If its anything like the Saab it will be a cracker - although it looks like a S-1 Pitts.

There's always one dry.gif Cheez! Critics! laugh.gif

I did say that these paints aren't really ready, because Icarus aren't ready with the bugfixes that I so kindly pointed out after they went on sale. They should have asked me first - OK, I'd have probably put the launch date back a month - which now they are busy trying to catch up with in a few days.

Here is where I am at with the lettering:

The white canopy is als their bug and I am waiting for the modeller to answer a dozen questions as to where he mapped "A" or "B".

The VC has already been through a major rebuild because one pointed out the fact that there were no controls for prop, mixture, heat, alt air, trim, brakes, fuel etc.

...not that these are really needed on the VC. If you're airborne in a Pitts, the last thing you need to be is heads down inside your pit. If you don't know where your controls are on your physical joysticks and keyboards and throttle quadrants, you are going to be spending time in hospital or worse. laugh.gif

Oh, and the white canopy bits have been redress, as well as a lot of other yukkies.

And as for ailerons, rudder and elevator - yes, those too. I shall be creating a full new PK regardless of what they deliver. Unless of course the Sibwings one comes first.

Unfortunately I have yet to discover a model maker who really knows anything about aircraft engineering, theory of flight, combustion engine theory and so on.

If someone will sponsor me a copy of 3DS Max, I'll learn 3D modelling - it's always easier to cross train an aircraft engineer to do any other task, than it is to train, say, a 3D modeller to understand something about aeroplanes.

Very wicked grin, very satirical, and yes, I mean some of that.

You took the words from me mouf laugh.gif
Y'know I look around and see all these Cessna's 150, 152, all the sub-variants...and go HALLOO - Pitts anyone?
A Wunbum is OK, but an S-2 is what we're after, really.
Keep practising, Chris.
Oh, and keep an eye on the mailbox, who knows what Santa might deliver this year!

Sorry, all work on the pitts is on hold. I need the maker to add specs, to enable alpha channels and generally to comply with SDK advice.

It will be another week or so - if he pulls his thumb out
