Portland, OR, November 5, 2008 -- Vertical Reality Simulations (VRS)
announces that pre-orders of the long-awaited Flight Simulator 9
F/A-18E add-on can now be made through VRS' website at
http://www.vrsimulations.com <http://www.vrsimulations.com/>

As a special introductory offer, VRS is offering $5.00 US discounts
on pre-orders placed before December 15th, 2008 to those customer who
enter priority code SANTA at checkout. This offer is not valid with
any other promotions or discounts, and applies only to retail
pre-orders.

The VRS F/A-18E for FS9 will ship in late December, 2008 at a
suggested retail price of $44.95 US. Pricing and availability of the
FSX version of the VRS F/A-18E is TBD.

VRS' debut aircraft, the F/A-18E Super Hornet, has been in production
for over 4 years. The VRS F/A-18E features advanced fly-by-wire
control systems, single-model user-configurable firing loadouts with
dynamic weight, drag and asymmetry (lateral CG) simulation. In
addition, this aircraft features complex true-to-life avionics and
A-A radar modeling, built-in carrier operations, and a simulated
Anti-Air-Warfare (AAW) environment complete with random and battle
damage modeling. There has never been a military add-on for Flight
Simulator modeled to this degree of complexity and feature-rich
value.

Crafted by a small, dedicated team of developers who also happen to
be engineers in real life, the VRS F/A-18E seeks to provide what we
believe is by far the most comprehensive overall simulation of ANY
combat aircraft ever created for the Flight Simulator franchise. VRS
has created a truly remarkable and faithful reproduction of the U.S.
Navy's newest strike fighter.

This looks like quite a good addon, looking forward to the FSX version as well next year.

Yes a long time in the making - probably will be better than the Aerosoft F-16 - wonder if a RAAF F-18F is in the pipeline?

$50 USD for the FSX version too? Be easier and cheaper to just get the FSX Acceleration addon (which includes a fantastic F/A-18, EH-101, Mustang etc as well as missions) I would have thought

...but the VRS F-18 looks fully system implemented - comparing it to the Acceleration F-18 would be like comparing the PMDG 747 to the default 747.
