Don't get Dash 8's, not really good enough range. Start your next base in SYD, then MEL. Try HS-748E's, then ATR's later on. Afterwards replace your ATR's with Caravelle 10B's (Only after you have 60 or so ATR's), the the Caravelle's with 737-200Advs. Not sure if you'll have enough time though.
...

Thanks VAC! :D

The HS-748Es get withdrawn next year game time, so they might end up being a no go, unless I can get my hands on them before they get withdrawn.
I'm pretty close to being able to set up another base and/or buy lots of new planes so it should be all good shortly.

Cheers
Anthony

Time for a wee update?

It's great being able to have an overseas base, I chose Amstedam, which has helped me become the best my airline ever has, and I have broken the magical $20 million Daily Profit barrier :D

I'm doing great, if I do say so myself :D

ahhh yes (very childish of me) - I have two airlines - one in World 8 and another in world 12. I thought you gave up Tom? I have promised myself that the world 12 airline is my last.........

My world 8 airline is based on Qantas and Singapore Airline routes whilst the world 12 airline (which is only in its first year) is based on British Airways routes - not the best way to get to the top of the leaders board but more challenging.

Oh yeah, I remember this. I use to be Blenheim Air then that world finished and then I was Southern Air but then lots of competition drove me bust. But alas, I have 222 tokens biggrin.gif

Yeah but what sort of DOP do you get with them? as the more the plane costs the more the maintanence on them. I know in a previous one I bought a concorde and had it with 750k dop and I was still losing money on it.

Obviously DOP is never great with long haul flights, and you're stupid to use them on short-haul. On long haul DOP is neither good nor bad but MX isn't that expensive as they're cheap to buy new.

Private Worlds has opened and the whole layout has been changed to something a bit newer. Next step is supposedly Mass-Route Edit which will eliminate having to sit editing routes for ages every day. Should be here very soon.

I'm saving up the 192 credits I need to open up my own private world, it will be worldwide, starting in 1998, with €1,000,000 starting cash and an ATR 42-500. You're all welcome to join biggrin.gif

Is anybody playing in World 14 at the moment?

I'm playing world 350 right now and it's quite boring. There's no competition and the world started in 1964, which is not so interesting for me.
Based in Australasia as usual.

Tom, did you ever set your private world up?
