It looks like a great model with accurate systems!

Woo hooo!!! It's one of my favourite ones too!!! It's seriously *evil*!!!! I did have one that I had running in FSX a while back ... but I can't remember whose it was. The exterior model was OK but I think the VC was nowhere as as good as this one.

I saw one of these once at a display in the UK - it was simply amazing. Incredibly loud and it really did look like it meant business!

BTW: The non-munged direct URL is this: http://www.blueboard.cz/dcounter.php?hid=j...cz/MiG-21MF.zip

Well, we all know what to do now! Post images!
As you may see, there is apparently a start up video for the MiG in that forum thread. It's viewable in the US for me, but I know that the author seems to have accidentally put viewing restrictions on it. There's also a discussion about continual start up issues even with the video, so I'll see how it goes later.
So...try to master the startup, and post frequently in the screenshot area! smile.gif

We'll have to get an NZ repaint onto it, the one in Wanaka! I've got photos if anyone wants them. winkyy.gif

And for those that need a startup tutorial like me....

I cant belive how good some of the freeware stuff is getting. It way surpasses even the early payware stuff for FSX

And some of the later payware as well! laugh.gif

It's really great to see people putting this much time and energy into something that other people can enjoy. That was my main motivation to do NZRT, even though it wasn't much, it just felt like I was giving something back for all the other great addon developers. cool.gif

I've had better luck with this http://www.migsim.ic.cz/. The download and instructional videos are there - one for startup, which hasn't happened for me yet and another for takeoff, short flight and landing. Apparently an English manual is forthcoming. Here's a static pic.

There's a car dealer between Seattle and Tacoma on Interstate 5 has a Mig21 parked, facing the highway. If I needed a car, I'd just have to stop.

We had one sitting in a car yard in Christchurch a month or two back! laugh.gif I don't remember what it sold for in the end, but $22,000 rings a bell.....

I'd also like to see some more skins for this one. In the meantime, here's one checking out one of our RNZAF Hercs ...

It's a stunner of a freeware addon.

I managed to grab the startup video off Youtube ... haven't seen the others yet, but starting up does look like fun!

@connor - wasn't that the one that appeared on Trademe briefly? laugh.gif

Yeah, that's the one! At Turner's auctions on the corner of Hagley Park. We could get an NZ repaint for that as well! laugh.gif

Some initial thoughts:

Doesn't seem fast enough. I might need to figure out how to retract/extent the nose cone though.

Great VC, great model, great animations (when you put the brake on, you even see the brake lever being squeezed!).

Needs sound but I've got their 21F-13 on the way which should solve that (plus I love the F13 model so much, so I'm keen to see how that one stacks up).

Ye - I think there's something wrong with the .air file too. With a centre-line tank and a few rockets I can hardly stay in the air - even on full afterburner. I'd be interested to know about the nose cone - I haven't found it yet.

She seems to take a bit to get up to speed but at sea level I've just managed to hit Mach 1.0...but she should still be faster. Again, this could well be because I hadn't moved the cone for supersonic flight. I shall consult my reference materials I think.

Fun AC to fly though! Once there are some good repaints out for it we should all have a multi on it one night...maybe those old Alpha F4s vs the MiGs? biggrin.gif
