Watching the footage again on TV one news it looked like the main rotor hit the lift cable which appears to still be attached to the helo and the tower.

he wasn't running a remote hook so the idea would of been to climb up and unhook it once everything was secure. Normal practise would of been descend down by the tower and button it off the hook then land
all in all a very lucky man and lucky his crew jumped in and shut the fuel off, a runaway engine is what tends to start a fire

End off the day , even with the skill .. why not a long line and ground crew checking structure distance ... I,m not a H,pilot but in my old work in possible chance , you don't do it .Last edited by Ian Warren on Wed Nov 23, 2011 6:49 pm, edited 1 time in total.
