Douglas DC-6B by Just Flight finally released today , course the first thing was to try it out in today,s working locations... of the into the strips to drop off cargo

Course had to have the atmospheric scene and the grass and the bees and the bugs tongue.gif

And to sneak in jumping the fence

Once loaded up it was off to buzz the tower

Air Commodore Kahu is going to rip strips of me for this one ... DAMN THATS TWICE

I'm still waiting on the updates , at cost it will be much cheaper than a PMDG , course the painting is the problem with any Just Flight aircraft , this one is easier to do , that,s working without a paint kit - with less curve but still can throw a curve ball so to speak , sound , currently running Hellcat engines .. been playing around but this is were the animation wont match start,up .

The Cockpit is the standard , look at photos and documentary,s they are simple but as you get a better stand out view it has an appeal because of the working parts , it is one off the better ones altho love to see a engine maintain cycle on it , dropping cowl and access platforms .

Thanks for the info Ian. I'll be waiting for the PMDG model... That'll have most systems accurately simulated, even some icing and hydraulic systems, etc. Justflight doesn't go past the default FSX simulation features, and those are rather simplistic. I want' to be able to break stuff... Espessially with a super-sensitive propliner as the DC-6. Same reason why I didn't buy their Constellation. I couldn't say no to their Viscount however, but then again, the lack of system simulation can't be balanced out with a WV Van harhar.gif

I think I'll probably hang on till the PMDG model comes out - after people have made comparisons. I don't mind paying the extra, if the additional features are worth it. I too want to "break stuff". Landing a decidedly wobbly P-40 (with a burst tyre) was fun. Let's face it - once you're in the air, there's precious little to do ... so managing the engines and/or systems keeps your interest.

Generally, I've come to expect most of my add-ons to be of the A2A/PMDG standard these days. Semi-functional eye-candy just doesn't do it for me any more. Even my new PZL-Wilga models the engine accurately winkyy.gif

I was one off the chosen few , looking playing and finding errors and adding suggesting , still waiting on the complete package so may be a little short tailed due to recent PMDG Six announcement .

Well I was waiting for the PMDG 6 but I caved today..I needed a 6 for the flying I do, so Just Flight got some cash from me. To cut a long story short I am actually very surprised with this bird, I know the rivet counters over SOH kicked up a s**t storm but honestly it was totally unfounded and uncalled for. There are a few blemish's here and there, for me personally I needed to tweak a few entries in the airfile and config but overall I am very happy with this latest JF/Aeroplane Heaven offering.... In 3 words "Their best yet" hands down.

I will still get the PMDG cause the JF has a shocking paint kit, but I can surely say the JF bird has a safe home in my active hanger.............Some pics.

Summery... worth what they are asking. Love it and I am a fussy bugger, and still I have no frig'n idea how many rivets these things have smile.gif

8/10
Regards always
Pete
